Vote boards allow you to cast your ballot for Neighborhood Action Plans (NAPs) in The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle
Neighborhood Action Plans are a central feature of The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle. They are a new way of shaping the world around you on a per-neighborhood level. Well, they would be, but you are unfortunately unable to vote on NAPs outside your own neighborhood. However, the one you live in can have up to four active, so it's worth considering which ones you want, and understanding how the process works.

How to Use Neighborhood Action Plans
Voting on NAPs - and convincing others to vote - is a matter of spending Influence, the currency used in The Sims 4 Eco Lifestyle
NAPs are voted on via the community voting boards in each neighborhood in Evergreen Harbor. You may also be able to use the mailbox. You may desire to place one if you are playing in another world. This is easy - go to the local park (and possibly any other public lot) and you can place a Community Voting Board. From there, voting will be open from Friday 8AM to Monday 6PM and the highest voted NAP will pass. During the rest of the week, you can work to gain influence.
Gaining Influence
Influence is the currency used to vote or convince others to vote. Voting directly costs 10 influence, while convincing another costs 5. There is no guarantee the other Sim will agree to your proposal, however, so it's better to build up a solid relationship with them before you try. This is not a trivially easy one where 10 friendship will do in my experience. Friendship (40+) may be needed to get good results.
Influence is gained in a number of ways:
- Introducing Yourself to Sims This gets you +4.
- Following Community Rules This gets you +2 (like fighting with Roughhousing Encouraged
- Participating in Island Events in Sulani +2
- Uploading Photos to Simstagram/Social Media Activities +2
- Donate $10 +2 (may have Cooldown)
- Becoming Friends, BFFs This gets you +8 each stage
- Being a Civil Designer Some tasks give them 4-8 at a time.
- Ranking Up in University Clubs +8
- Being Activist and Joining Protests +8
- Mentoring Other Sims in Skills +8
- Participating in Holidays +8
- Increasing Fame, Getting a Degree 15+
- Donate $1,000 Simoleons 15+
- Giving a Speech at Podium 15+
- and many little misc activities I may have missed... I tried to find the good ones.
Repealing NAPs
It's possible to repeal NAPs, and may even be necessary when you hit the 4 week mark or so, because no more slots will be available. In order to repeal, you need only visit the voting boards and begin the process by selecting the one you want to repeal. Repealing a policy requires 5 signatures. After the period is up signatures are reset, so you have to get 5 before the voting period restarts.

Of course, funding for this development will have to come from somewhere. With this initiative, weekly Utility Bills will be increased, but we'll also put in place an increase in residents' career pay to offset that added cost. |
| | Modern Development in Grim's Quarry | Do you ever look around and think "this place stinks"? That's because it does actually smell a bit like old carpet. It's ok. We can admit it. We live in an area surrounded by some impressive advancements, but Grims Quarry is still outdated for today's standards. With enough funding we can make Grims Quarry a better place to live. Vote for the Modern Development Project, and expect modern advancements at the quarry itself, in the Park, and even on the homes in Grims Quarry. |
| | Modern Development in Port Promise | Feeling down about the state of our fair Port Promise? Vote on additional funding for development projects to help this area live up to its name. By putting in hard work and funding, mainly funding, together we can work on some much needed upgrades to the area. Don't be put off by the increase in your weekly Bills to help pay for these improvements. We're pushing to ensure residents' career pay goes up to help offset the added costs. This won't only make the neighborhood more green in the visual sense, but the influx of CO2 will also move our Eco Footprint to a Greener state. With the Upcycling Initiative, we are giving Influence to everyone using Recyclers to get materials and Fabricators to turn those materials into something responsibly wonderful! |
